With the rapid development of the electric vehicle industry, charging infrastructure—critical to ensuring EV range—has become a central focus for technological advancement and optimization. Among the various solutions, fully liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging stations have emerged as a popular choice, thanks to their advantages such as high charging speed, equipment reliability, low failure rate, and environmental friendliness.

Recently, the “Construction Guidelines for Fully Liquid-Cooled Ultra-Fast Charging Stations” (Standard Number: T/CIET 590—2024), a group standard jointly initiated by the Standardization Working Committee of the China International Economic and Technical Cooperation Promotion Association (referred to as the “CIET Committee”) and the STS Standardization Institute, and co-drafted by Sano Energy, the China Quality Certification Center, and others, was officially released and implemented.

This standard, co-authored by 11 organizations including Sano Energy, the China Quality Certification Center, and Shanghai Anshipu Energy, sets out to standardize key aspects of constructing fully liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging stations. These include general requirements, site selection and layout, equipment selection and installation, electrical design, power quality, metering, lighting, lightning protection and grounding, fire safety, monitoring systems, energy conservation and environmental protection, as well as signage.

In recent years, China has introduced a range of policy measures to vigorously support the development and deployment of fully liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging stations. Notably, the “Guidelines on Further Building a High-Quality Charging Infrastructure System” emphasize key principles such as scientific planning, appropriate advancement, innovative integration, and safety and convenience. These policies promote R&D and practical application of fully liquid-cooled charging technologies. However, due to the high technical threshold of liquid-cooled charging modules, only a limited number of companies in the market are currently capable of mass-producing and deploying such ultra-fast charging stations.

Therefore, the release and implementation of this standard is particularly significant. It is expected to accelerate innovation in fully liquid-cooled charging technologies across China and promote the rapid deployment and construction of related infrastructure nationwide, contributing both immediate and long-term benefits to the industry.

Sano Energy, as a leading drafting unit of this standard, specializes in the R&D, design, production, and operation of new energy vehicle charging and battery-swapping systems. Leveraging its robust foundation in innovation and supply chain integration, the company has successfully merged digital technologies with power electronics and energy efficiency management to establish a comprehensive ecosystem of charging infrastructure solutions. This has driven the charging industry toward higher productivity while enhancing the user charging experience with greater convenience and comfort.

To date, Sano Energy has accumulated extensive practical experience in technological innovation for charging pile products and solutions, as well as in the construction and operation of charging stations. The company operates over 50,000 DC charging piles and has provided charging services for more than 50 million vehicle sessions. It has established strong partnerships with major entities such as Sinopec, PetroChina, State Grid Corporation of China, China Southern Power Grid, as well as municipal public transport systems, urban investment platforms, and various automotive and energy enterprises, earning broad recognition for its products and services.
